the other side of the fence.

Tonight I was fortunate enough to attend The Fray with direct support Jack’s Mannequin.  This was the first large show I have been to in a long time where I was purely a spectator.  I was there for the performance, I had not job, no load out.  The only thing I had to do was sit on the lawn and talk with friends that I met at the show.  Having seeing JM a few months ago in LA I had an idea of what to expect but my expectations were exceeded.  He played old songs new songs and everything was so tight together.  He ended with a cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl,”  A song which is basically the definition of summer.   After JM The Fray came on opening with “over my head”  A song in which the crowded erupted for.  I also looked into their production, 3 huge LED strip screens, Candle type lights in between the LED walls, spots on the band, 4 huge screens on top with a dedicated camera to each band member.  Super hi tech but not over the top, i felt that it fit them really well.  There was probably around 13,000 people there.  All in all it was a great show and nice to just sit back and relax and enjoy a concert.  Nice job boys, nice job.
